The project started off, with our need for a place to keep our families' recipes saved for eternity. Subsequently, we wanted to make it easy to manage and a feeling of ownership as you open your archive.
All the category icons that we're using is hand drawn by one of the owners and we're always adding more icons to the list!
The system makes it possible to add, edit, share, print, categorize, favorite and delete recipes.
We want to make it easy to have an archive of your recipes, where you easily can find the recipe you're looking for.
You can choose to make the individual recipes public, so that you easily can share them through your profile with your family and friends.
When adding a recipe, you'll be asked to enter a title, a list of ingredients, a description on how to make it, comments about the recipe and tags.
Commenting can help you remember that your mother would like less chili in your chili con carne, next time she visits you.
Tagging a recipe can help finding a certain recipe between hundreds.
It's possible to share your recipe with a simple link, that you can share on social media, with family or in private messages.
You might have many recipes, but not as many favorites. Make it easy to get to your recipe for chocolate chip cookies, by adding them to your favorites list. The three latest added recipes will be accessible from anywhere on the site.
Print your recipes including or excluding the comments, keeping it simple, without adds or several pages of comments.
Categorizing is easy, do it to make it easier for yourself!
Add a new category in the hotbar, give it a title and choose an icon from the list of hand drawn icons. When you have the categories you want, simply add them to the recipes you are adding/editing.
We're always striving to update the system with new features, that both we think would be awesome, but also features and ideas that the users want.
We have plans about other features, including seasonal calendars where you can add vegetables and fruits that matter to you, and their seasonal months, meal plan-generator with any number of days and including both starter, main course and dessert, and searching based on whole foods to reduce food-waste.
These are all some features that takes longer to implement, and therefore are not in the featured list yet.
